I captured this rare moment with my camera when a beautiful sunset cast an orange glow over the ninth hole of the Kiln Creek golf course, our "backyard". Storm clouds were moving out giving us a glimpse of blue sky. I am in the process of creating an acrylic painting of this one and I will post it soon.

Grace Episcopal Church-Yorktown, Virginia

I love this church and its history and it was a joy to try to capture it's proud beauty. After over 300 years, it is still an active parish sitting high on "the hill" overlooking the York River. It was rendered with pen and ink and watercolor.

Cannons on Yorktown Battlefield

This is another of my pen and ink with watercolor illustrations. My reference photo was taken directly behind the Yorktown Visitors Center, overlooking the York River. It looks like the three cannons are trying to shoot down the defenseless pine tree!

Victory Monument-Yorktown, Virginia

My reference for this watercolor painting was a photo I had taken when the sunset was casting a golden glow on "Yorktown's Lady". It was a time-consuming project with a lot of detail...but that's my style!

Fifes and Drums-Yorktown, Virginia

This intricately-rendered pen and ink with watercolor is the latest in my Historic Triangle collection. The faces are recognizable...this was my most difficult challenge.
